LinkedIn Challenge: Make a difference with your online presence š¢
Get ready for professional growth & networking with our #ChannelsLinkedInChallenge. 3 prompts, 3 weeks, a whole new world of possibilities!
Dear Channels network,
LinkedIn has been blowing up the last few years, seemingly exponentially. When you think everything has already been said and done, someone posts another super cool idea or mind-blowing insight that makes you ask: how can I do that, too?
You know that LinkedIn can help you create a network and make friends, help you stand out as a professional in your field, and help you gain new opportunities. But when itās time to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), you stare at the empty āstart a postā prompt on LinkedIn and donāt know what to say. Sound familiar?
We even asked about it on LinkedIn and found that 84% of you feel uncomfortable posting on the platform, and weāre not surprised.
Well, weāre here to help!

Monday, 06 February: Share a campaign or initiative that you believe effectively raised awareness for a social issue. What made it impactful in your opinion?
For example, share a big campaign from a humanitarian organisation, like this MSF video) and write why it worked, what you learned from it, and how other organisations can model after this campaign.
Monday, 13 February: What is one way you're using your skills in communications for good in your personal or professional life?
Pick a skill that youāre really proud of and which is important for communications work, e.g. listening, strategic thinking, or even something technical like design. Explain how that skill is important for communications and how it can be used to amplify social impact.
Monday, 20 February: What are some ethical considerations that you always keep in mind when communicating? Why is this even more important in #SocialImpactComms?
Ethics are extremely important both in communications in general, and even more-so when communicating about sensitive topics. Whether youāre always advocating for using camel case or always remember to not show the faces of children that your nonprofit is working with, what ethical tip do you wish other communicators knew about?
*Bonus!* Monday, 27 February: What did you learn from posting on LinkedIn for a month?
Well, was it really that bad? Are you going to keep posting on LinkedIn or are you done for good? Tag some people youāve connected with, round-up any opportunities you were presented with, or share any tips you have for others who may want to follow in your footsteps.
Ready, set, go!
The prompts are set, now itās time to get to content planning and even scheduling (do you have that new LinkedIn feature yet?). Weāre so excited to see all of your amazing insights starting next week! š¤©
